Searched questions
Plain answers California operators actually type.
- How much notice does a California HOA board meeting require?
- At least four days. Civ. Code §4920 requires notice of the time and place and the agenda. Two days if the meeting is solely executive session. Governing documents may require more — never less. Calendar days, not business days.
- What happens if an item is not on the noticed agenda?
- Under §4930 the board generally cannot discuss or vote on it. A vote on an unnoticed item is the most common way a decision gets unwound.
- When must HOA minutes be available?
- Within 30 days. Civ. Code §4950 requires draft or approved minutes of board meetings be available to a member who requests them.
